Need a ride on Election Day? Hop on the bus!

On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, VCU will provide free transportation for students, faculty and staff to the following voting locations from Cabell Library:

  • Randolph Community Center (504) – 1415 Grayland Ave
  • Clark Springs Elementary School (505) – 1101 Dance St.
  • Richmond Public Library (607) – 101 E. Franklin St.
  • George W. Carver Elementary School (213) – 1110 W. Leigh St.
  • Dominion Place (206) – 1025 W. Grace St.

Note: A shuttle will run on a continuous loop to each polling location and then back to Cabell from 9am-7pm. Pick-ups from Cabell are made every half hour.

To facilitate adequate service levels, reservations for rides are requested; however, they are not required. On November 8, students should present their VCUCard to the driver upon boarding the shuttle.

While November 8 is still a regular class day, faculty have been encouraged to be flexible in scheduling. We can expect Election Day to be a busy day and many students will be engaged in election-related activities or may face long lines at the polls. Students are encouraged to discuss thier Election Day plans with their instructors in advance if being late for or missing a class is anticipated. All students are encouraged to participate in the Election Night Watch Party being held in the Student Commons in three locations- the Theater, the Ballrooms, and the Salons. The party will start at 6:00 p.m. and run until 11:00 p.m. Snacks will be provided.

To reserve a ride:

  1. Click on the "Reserve a Ride" button below.
  2. Select your preferred pick-up time.
  3. Confirm your trip.
  4. A confirmation of your reservation will be sent to your VCU email address.
